ITINERARY

Day 1: Welcome to Nairobi!
Arriving in Nairobi is an experience that immediately stimulates your senses: the lively chaos of the city, the intense colors, the frantic energy. This is where our journey into the heart of Kenya begins!
In the evening, our driver will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to the hotel. After check-in, you'll have time to relax after the flight and adjust to the city’s rhythm. Dinner is free—if you have the energy, you can explore local flavors, otherwise, a bit of rest will prepare you for the upcoming adventures!

Days 2-5: Volunteering at Awani Kizito’s Project of Hope
Dive into the heart of the experience: four days of volunteering in the Nairobi slums with Awani Kizito's Project of Hope. Here, we'll assist in various ways: escorting children to medical visits, purchasing essential supplies, organizing fundraising events, grocery shopping, and even assembling furniture. Each day will be different, tailored to the community's real needs.
After each intense day, we'll return to a safer, well-equipped area outside the slum, with running water and all necessary services for rest and recharge. These will be demanding days, but incredibly enriching—you'll leave with stories and emotions that are impossible to forget.

Day 6: Early Safari at Nairobi National Park and Volunteering
The day begins early, but it will be worth it: at dawn, we will embark on a safari in Nairobi National Park, a unique natural area where the savannah meets the city skyline. Here, you'll have the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife: lions, leopards, giraffes, black rhinos, buffalo, zebras, cheetahs, and many more animals that make this park one of Kenya’s most special places.
After the safari and a refreshing break, we’ll return to the Awani Kizito Project of Hope in the afternoon to continue our volunteering activities and continue making a difference in the community.

Day 7: Last Volunteering Day
This will be the final day at Awani Kizito’s Project of Hope. It’s the time to finish the activities we started, tidy up, and say goodbye to the children and community we've shared this intense experience with.
We'll have time to reflect on what we've experienced, and if possible, organize a small celebration before concluding our time in the slum.
At the end of the day, we’ll return to our accommodation for an evening of sharing and relaxation before moving on to the next stage of the trip.

Day 8: Nairobi Visit and Ocean Sole & Kazuri Beads Projects
Today promises a unique experience: a city tour with former street children from Nai Nami. Through their stories, we’ll discover the real Nairobi—stories of survival, growth, and redemption. During this storytelling tour on foot, we’ll explore the downtown area with people who lived through it and have transformed their experience into an opportunity for change. A genuine, unfiltered dive into the beating heart of the city. Lunch included.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit two social entrepreneurship and sustainability projects:

Ocean Sole: a social enterprise that transforms flip-flops recovered from beaches and oceans into works of art. Through creative recycling, they create a positive impact both on the environment and the local community, involving over a thousand people in the collection and processing process.
Kazuri Beads Factory: a ceramics workshop providing job opportunities for single mothers and vulnerable women. Here, we’ll observe every stage of bead creation, from molding to decoration, and discover how a small workshop became an international success, with 60% of production exported worldwide.
It will be an afternoon dedicated to sustainability, female empowerment, and social impact—a perfect way to end the day with inspiration and awareness.

Day 9: Walking Safari on Crescent Island and Biking Adventure at Hell’s Gate (optional)
The day starts early: at 8:30, we leave Nairobi for one of Kenya's most captivating locations—Lake Naivasha. Our first stop will be Crescent Island, a unique nature reserve where we’ll take a walking safari surrounded by zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and antelopes. Walking among these animals in total freedom, without barriers, makes Crescent Island a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
After about two hours of exploration, we’ll head to the hotel for lunch and check-in. The afternoon will be free, with the option to relax or, for those seeking extra adventure, participate in an optional biking safari at Hell's Gate (not included). Cycling through canyons and spectacular landscapes, with buffalo and antelopes crossing the path, is an experience you won’t want to miss!
A perfect day to connect with nature and enjoy the most authentic side of Kenya.

Day 10: Towards the Coast – Nairobi to Watamu
We start the day early with a private transfer to Nairobi's airport. Flight to Malindi and arrival in Watamu, where a transfer will take you to your accommodation. Once settled, you'll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy your first glimpse of Kenya's stunning coastline. A perfect day to recharge your batteries and get ready for the days ahead!

Day 11: A Day Supporting Sea Turtles
Today, we’ll experience something truly unique by visiting projects protecting sea turtles. We’ll start with Turtle Nest Monitoring, discovering how beach monitors protect nests and release turtles. If the timing is right, we may witness a turtle being released into the sea!
We’ll also visit the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, where injured turtles are cared for and rehabilitated before being returned to the ocean. It’s a chance to see the great work involved in safeguarding these creatures.
The afternoon is free: take a stroll, relax, or enjoy a swim in the sea!

Day 12: Sea and Relaxation
Today is the day to slow down and enjoy the sea. No alarms, just sun, sand, and crystal-clear water. Whether you choose to swim, snorkel, or simply relax on the beach, the time is all yours. A perfect opportunity to recharge and prepare for the final day of adventure.

Day 13: Goodbye, Watamu!
Enjoy one last breakfast in the sun before heading to the airport for your return flight. The trip is coming to an end, but you’ll leave with countless memories and new connections. Until the next adventure!
