Journey to Ytterby’s legendary mine, uncover the secrets of Uppsala’s scientific history, and hike the wild trails of Tyresta National Park. Science, exploration, and nature come together to reveal Sweden’s true essence. - Rare Earth Elements at Ytterby:
Step into the world’s most scientifically significant mine at Ytterby, where more elements of the periodic table were discovered than anywhere else. Walk the paths of history while learning about rare earth elements and their impact on everything from smartphones to sustainability. - Swedish Science and Green Living:
From the Gustavianum Museum in Uppsala to Stockholm’s Hammarby Sjöstad eco-district, witness Sweden’s mastery of combining cutting-edge science with sustainable living. Explore how the country continues to lead the way in innovation and environmental care."
Fun note: This trip speaks Italian, with a splash of English for select activities. Pack your hiking boots, your curiosity, and maybe a periodic table—because when rare elements meet rare adventures, the results are unforgettable!

30% down payment at the time of booking and the remaining 70% due 30 days prior to departure.
If the booking is made within 30 days of departure, the full amount is due at checkout.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Stockholm
Arrive by early afternoon to kick off your adventure. Meet Eva and your group, then dive into Stockholm’s enchanting Gamla Stan, the old town. Wrap up the day at the Nobel Museum, where the spirit of innovation sets the tone for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Ytterby and Rare Earth Elements
Head to Ytterby, a short trip from Stockholm, and explore the legendary mine that rewrote the periodic table. Take a guided hike around the site, discussing the power and pitfalls of rare earth elements. It’s science, history, and a dash of adventure rolled into one.
Day 3: Stockholm’s Natural History Museum
Spend the day at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, marveling at exhibits on mineralogy and geology. Dive into the cosmos with a visit to the Cosmonova Observatory, where science comes alive through immersive storytelling.
Day 4: Uppsala – Sweden’s Scientific Heart
Take a quick train ride to Uppsala, a city brimming with scientific history. Explore Carl Linnaeus’ laboratory, the Gustavianum Museum, and the Uppsala Observatory. Each stop is a window into Sweden’s contributions to global knowledge.
Day 5: Tyresta National Park
Escape to Tyresta National Park, a short drive from Stockholm, and lose yourself in Sweden’s natural beauty. Hike ancient trails, discover the park’s diverse ecosystems, and let the pristine wilderness inspire awe.
Day 6: Stockholm’s Hidden Gems
Discover Stockholm’s innovative spirit. Visit Hammarby Sjöstad, a model of sustainable urban living, Alfred Nobel’s first nitroglycerin factory, and Berzelius Park. End the day with a Nobel-inspired ice cream that’s as sweet as it is iconic.
Day 7: Reflection and Farewell
Gather for a final group session led by Eva, reflecting on the trip’s discoveries and adventures. Share stories, swap photos, and leave with a sense of inspiration that lingers long after departure.

Ready to go? Just the usual doubts?
What is the average age of participants? Are there age limits?

Participants are generally between 22 and 45 years old, with an average age of 30-35. There are no age limits: we accept minors (with legal guardian consent) and people over 45. However, consider the type of trip, as some activities may require good physical condition.
What are the exact arrival and departure times?

Our trips typically start around lunchtime or early afternoon, with departures in the same timeframe. However, times may vary depending on the destination. We remain flexible so everyone can plan accordingly. If you arrive late or need to leave early, just let us know in advance.
Is vegan/vegetarian food available? What about celiac disease?

Absolutely! Many of our coordinators and participants are vegetarian or vegan, so we always choose restaurants with suitable options. Our trips can also accommodate celiac disease, as long as we are informed in advance. The same applies to any allergies or intolerances.
When is the trip officially confirmed?

For long-haul or non-European trips, confirmation happens at least 1.5 months before departure. If the trip isn’t confirmed by then, it will be canceled. For shorter trips, confirmation happens 3-4 weeks before departure. You’ll receive an email once the trip is confirmed, along with a link to the Telegram group to coordinate logistics with other travelers.
Can I travel with the creator? What transport does the creator use, and from where?

Yes! If the transport type, departure station, and schedule are already set, they will be listed on the trip page. If not, we’ll share this information in the Telegram group once the trip is confirmed.
